I was laid off in 2010 from a good paying job with benifits, found a parttime job with some benefits including some coverage of insurance for myself and my husband who is self-employed. We were making it work. Now the status of what a parttime and fulltime employee has been changed with the company that I work for and my position as parttime has been reduced to 29 hrs. or less and I can’t get more than 25 hrs. Now all benefits to parttime employees has been eliminated and they do not hire fulltime other than managers, even though they are short on people to fill the hours the company needs!
Sooooo……..Less working hours available, less coming into the checkbook and more costs will be incured as we need to find our own insurance. How is this going to help? My funds go to insurance, food and gas to get to the abbreviated job I have!
