I have had health coverage through my husband’s workplace for 29 years (it’s no coincidence that I’ve been married for 29 years). Two weeks ago I got a notice from my husband’s employer that all spouses that are eligible for coverage through their own employer will be dropped from coverage. Let me tell you that […]
Cost and deductibles almost tripled.
My insurance premium costs almost tripled as well as the deductible almost tripled. My choices in plans came down to about 3 due to the fact that either one or none of my doctors were on any of the other plans. I did not want to have to change one or any of my doctors […]
family of 6 without insurance…can’t get it now
Open enrollment at my current employer was end of oct-mid nov. I made my elections to be the same as last year, including my health coverage for me and my family through BCBS. As far as I knew all was well until I used my card on Feb.1st for my daughters seizure meds…denied. 1st called […]
I’m 59 yrs old, self employed , and cannot save for retirement because of Obamacare.
My healthcare premium just skyrocketed for no apparent reason. Somebody tell me why a healthy person who has never smoked or had any heart or issues with cancer or any other diseases should have the government or the health insurance companies they are in bed with, say my monthly premium should be $855., –of which, […]
Lifesaving Epipen Unaffordable
My daughter and I both need epipens — the lifesaving medication used to prevent death from anaphylaxis due to severe allergies. This year our employer offered only high deductible plans. High or higher were the options. Premiums increased. Deductible skyrocketed. Plus we have to contribute several hundred dollars every pay period to the HSA account […]
We now pay far more for insurance that provides less.
We could elect to spend the same amount in premiums that we paid prior to Obamacare and have catastrophic insurance, but as a health care provider who has spent 22 years tearing up my own body to care for others, this simply is no option.
I was dropped from my wife’s insurance
I was dropped from my wife’s insurance which I had been on for 10 years or more. They just came out and told us that all spouses would be dropped because of Obamacare. I had to get insurance through my company which added about $340 to our cost of insurance. Our premiums went up about […]
choices I can’t make coverage I don’t need
I am loosing my employer based coverage I have had for 38 years because my plan is called substandard . The obamacare plan including the subsidy , or tax that some other poor working person has to pay to support me . Is still so expensive that it is not worth paying for, when I […]
Could not keep my current plan.
My employer could not “keep our current medical plan”. And Minnesota is not going to honor Unpresidential Obama’s “fix” to keep those previous plans. The changes resulted in horrible changes for me. I have Multiple Sclerosis and Coronary Artery Disease. I will now NOT be able to receive my MS medication nor 3 of my […]
My company is discontinuing the group policy due to obamacare
The company that I am a insurance agent representing- sent us a letter saying that due to the changes in the healthcare law- in 2014- that they no longer are offering the group plan that we have had since I started there over 25 years ago. We now all need to find our own individual […]
Less hours, Less pay…….more payout for insurance!
I was laid off in 2010 from a good paying job with benifits, found a parttime job with some benefits including some coverage of insurance for myself and my husband who is self-employed. We were making it work. Now the status of what a parttime and fulltime employee has been changed with the company that […]
30% tax on employer sponsored healthcare, so it was dropped
In 2013 when my spouse’s employer was going to enroll in a new two-year health coverage plan, he was informed that OBAMACARE charges private employers a 30% penalty tax if they offer health coverage such as Medica or Healthpartners, etc. We were so happy before with this coverage…but with this new tax, his employer could […]
250 families in area lose coverage
A Duluth Minnesota based private foundation health plan called HealthShare was setup to provide coverage for self-employed and small business served 200-300 area families ( 800+people total I think) was recently told its plan did not meet Obamacare requirements and consequently decided to close its doors. Our monthly combined cost to employer/employee was only $130.
Texas resident with HSA health insurance that is no longer available
Spent 3 hours comparing by existing BCBS high deductible HSA plan to comparable new ACA HSA compatible plans…. nothing exactly like my current one… all priced significantly higher (75% higher was the LOWEST comparable)…. if I change my current plan in ANY manner, it would be terminated and I would be forced to a new […]
Hours reduced and heath care canceled
My employer is no longer willing to work part time employees past 25 hours a week, meaning we all have to get a second job to pay bills. They’re also canceling heath care for part time workers because ACA means we should “be able to find it in the marketplace”. So, no more cheap & […]
Increase is not reasonable, forced to have certain coverages
As a young middle class worker with family I’m sick to my stomach just from the extra costs we are being forced into, to provide my family with health insurance. I’m 36 years old, married have 18 year old in college and 2 young kids at home. I get a letter in the mail from […]
My plan is gone
My plan is no longer offered, my premiums are up, and I’m going to be paid less because I’m a doctor… Not to mention I have over $100,000 in debt. Thank you Obama.
My supplement insurance has double because of Obama Care
This President does not know what he is doing to this United States. That’s how he got the Democrats – he bought votes to get the Democrats to vote for this rotten Obamacare, The Congress and the Senate should be ashamed of this President.
Employment hours reclassified
I work for a food service industry that serves a college in Mn. Our hours have been reclassified. Since we can really only work full time during school months, because summer as reduced hours due to low student enrollment. The company took that into consideration, and provided benefits- health care coverage, sick time and vacation […]
No copays, but higher deductible before insurance pays anything
The prescription I need each month will cost me $150 instead of $50.
