I work for a food service industry that serves a college in Mn. Our hours have been reclassified. Since we can really only work full time during school months, because summer as reduced hours due to low student enrollment. The company took that into consideration, and provided benefits- health care coverage, sick time and vacation pay. One month ago it was announced at a company meeting to meet the new Health Insurance requirements the company increased the hours in which you had to work in order to get those benefits. Which for most of us- the increase in hours are not possible for us to get, because the hours are not available to us during the summer. So mostly all of us (except a few upper management, and I mean few- four) lost health benefits, vacation pay, and sick pay.
