Sept 3rd, I received a 1 page notice about my plan rates for 2014 will be going up. The reasons stated were. 1. The cost of health care is going up. 2. There will be more people utilizing the health care system. Oct 6th I received my rate increases for 2014. In my mind, they are saying that I am paying for those who cannot afford health care, also there is such confusion and uncertainty about the new Affordable health care act, that is why my rates went up 35% over 2013. I honestly feared they were going to cancel my plan, but I’m grandfathered in, however if I make 1 simple change to my plan, poof!! my grandfathered plan goes away. I’m certain I will see a rate increase for 2015 of the same.
