I was laid off from a government contractor in 2011 and have had to purchase my own health insurance since then. I am currently not working. Not only did the cost for my current insurance carriers sky rocket, I was hit with the increase 4 months early; starting in January, rather than April. I cannot afford the current renewal cost. I have been trying to use the Healthcare.gov website to hopefully find less expensive insurance, but after 2.5 hours have not even been able to login in. I am concerned the website glitches won’t be fixed by the deadline and I won’t have insurance starting in January.
