Premium increased for my wife by 175% and employee premium increased by 165%

My wife’s coverage at age 63 under Regence Blue Shield which presently is at $324/mo. As of Jan 1, 2014, to obtain similar levels of coverage, we would need to go to the Gold plan. That premium is $890.79. If we went to the Bronze plan, the deductive would increase signficantly, only pay 60% of costs (compared to 80% currently) with a premium of $618.01. That still represents a 91% increase in premium for a significantly lower threshold of coverage. I am also an employer,and we have received information of coverage for that employee and spouse. Old premium $444/mo, as of Jan 1 will be $1179/mo.; a 165% increase. Haven’t received new premium information on the other employees yet, but in either case, we will either need to drop the spouses from being covered, or cut back on the % we pay as the employer, or not give pay raises for several years, or some combination of all.
